I was on Sesame Street for one episode in 1972 or 1973 because a friend of my mom worked on the show. On the day of the shoot, I remember waiting around in a dull office with some other kids until we were called onto the stage. We did letter in the sky bit with Bob, (I think the letter was "B") which was a monitor set up very high. Big Bird said hello, and I looked into his beak and saw a rather hirsute fellow, which didn't bother me because I was already hep to the puppetry angle. Snuffleupagus, however, was crated up at the rear of the stage, and that was definitely not cool because how can he eat for God's sake, or go to the bathroom? I get chills thinking about it to this day. The second part of this story later...
